The Faculty of Agriculture was initially established as a research center for Sub-tropical Plants affiliated to the Tehran University and then it was opened officially by offering Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Agricultural Economics and Agronomy Programs to applicants in 1977. Currently, the faculty has nearly 1600 students (1016 BSc & 401 MSc. students and 152 PhD candidates) and 81 academic members.

The philosophy of the Faculty is the training of production-oriented graduates in the various areas of Agriculture. The programs are designed to mobilize resources effectively and create opportunities for profit maximization in agriculture which can only be achieved by having quality persons in the different disciplines of Agriculture. Students graduating from the faculty will be competent researchers and experts who will be ready to conduct research and help shape the future of the country's agriculture. Equipped with the latest theories and the knowledge of technological advancements, they would be highly valuable assets in their fields.
