The closing ceremony of the "Gilan Cup" international chess competition was held in the presence of Dr. Farid Najafi, Acting chancellor of The University of Guilan, Dr. Hassan Tamini, president of the Chess Federation, Hamid Reza Emamipanah, governor of Rasht, and Jahanbakhsh Arman, Director General of Sports and Youth of Gilan, at the Hekmat Hall of The University of Guilan.

At the end of the tournament and in Table A Arash Tahbaz, the international master of the Chess Federation from Gilan, took the first place and Massoud Mossadeghpour, the chess federation's grandmaster from Mashhad, took the second and the third place in the table went to Sina Movahed of Khuzestan province. Also, in Table B of the tournament, Morteza Amirkhanlou from Mazandaran took the first place, and Mohammad Honarparast and Babak Haghdoost both from Gilan took the second and third place, respectively. The International "Gilan Cup" Chess Championship was held in the Architecture Hall of the University of Guilan with the participation of more than 600 chess players from nine countries for a week.
