The University of Guilan hosted a delegation from Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, China on May 1-2, 2018. Professor Xi Chen, Director of Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography , and Vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Professor Wenjiang LIU, Director of International Relations of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG) had a meeting with UG authorities and discussed the possibility of launching a Caspian ecosystem observation and research station in Guilan province.

After the meeting, the delegation visited to a number of districts in Guilan provice in order to select a suitable place for establishing the aforementioned station.
