Yas Complex in Rasht hosted the Iftar feast for University of Guilan's international students. At this feast, Dr. Farid Najafi, UG President, expressed his happiness from the presence of young academics from different nationalities in Gilan, wishing them a happy Ramadan.
"International students are one of the valuable potentials of Guilan university. They are special for the country as well as the university. We believe that the attendance of international students in universities leads to the expansion of relations and socio-cultural interactions with other countries in the world. This potential will greatly assist in promoting the concepts and ideologies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, among other countries. After all, foreign students are the Islamic Republic of Iran's influencing representatives in other countries." Najafi added, "For its suitable safety and security and its rich Islamic-Iranian culture, the world is taking notice of Iran. Surely by attracting international students, we can promote the Islamic-Iranian culture as well as achieve scientific, economic, and socio-cultural advancements. Therefore, international students can greatly assist in the improvement of science diplomacy and in solving regional and socio-economic issues."
During this feast, the Supreme Leader's representative at Guilan University, Hujjat al-Islam Abbasi, discussed the unifying functions of Holy Ramadan by young Muslims' scientific capabilities across the Islamic world. In addition, Guilan university's international students performed several cultural entertainments and conversed directly with the university president and officials.
At the moment, there are 350 international students from Afghanistan, Russia, Iraq, Yemen, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Syria, and Romania studying B.A, M.A, and Ph.D. at Guilan University.
