The Science and Technology Citation and Monitoring Institute (ISC) published the ranking of world universities (2022) based on subject areas. In this ranking, 44 Iranian universities were among 2038 universities in the world, and the University of Guilan ranked 601-700 in two subject areas of agricultural and veterinary science, and engineering and technology.

Also, the University of Guilan ranked in the following subjects: Mathematics (700-601), Chemical Sciences (601-700). Civil Engineering (251-300), Mechanical Engineering (301-350), Materials Engineering (601-700), and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (301-350).
