In the name of God

یُرِیدُونَ لِیُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ کَرِهَ الْکَافِرُونَ

They want to extinguish the light of Allāh with their mouths, but Allāh will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. (Holy Quran, As-Saf, verse 8)

The Holy Quran is the greatest capital and the most reliable document of the authenticity of the holy Islamic law. A book that, with its revelation, paved the way for humankind to reach perfection and became the light to guide mankind until the end of history.

Unfortunately, once again the unwise action of lowly people in desecrating and burning the word of revelation damaged the feelings of all Muslims and followers of divine religions. This clear violation of human innate nature was repeated in a country like Sweden, which has always claimed to respect human rights and divine lessons. This heinous and ignorant act that was not received a proper legal response from the government and officials of this country, shows their tacit complicity with this hateful act. Therefore, the responsibility for this intentional hateful action is directed at the Swedish government, which has always sought to present a distorted image of the divine religion of Islam in the world in the context of so-called freedom of speech.

The University of Guilan, as the national focal point for coordination and cooperation between the universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Sweden, together with all the free-thinkers of the world, condemning this unwise action, demands from its university counterparts in Sweden to show a reaction and declare this act unacceptable. Any insult to the sublime human beliefs, and especially to lessons of the divine religions, will not result in anything other than anger, disgust, and insecurity in the societies. The scientists and elites of the academic community worldwide are also expected to play an active role in explaining the ominous and destructive dimensions of such illogical thoughts and actions.
