International Scientific Forum "Caspian Region 2022: Sustainable Development Trajectories" was held on the 23rd and 24th May at Astrakhan State University, Russia. Meanwhile, International Youth Initiatives Strategic Panel Discussion held within the framework of this forum and the participants discussed the best youth and student practices and projects aiming sociocultural adaptation of students and the assistance to vulnerable categories of the population. On top of that, Dr. Farid Najafi (Chancellor of the University of Guilan) spoke at the panel on the upcoming changes that the higher education is facing and the necessity to take these changes under consideration in the Association of State Universities of Caspian Sea Region Countries (ASUCSR). It is worthwhile to mention that he referred to the performance of the University of Guilan and its international activities.

On another section of the meeting, Astrakhan State University held the international scientific conference on "Caspian Sea in Global Politic". During the conference, experts from participating countries stated their opinions on the importance of Caspian Sea in international and national policies of countries in the world order. Moreover, Dr. Mehdi Hedayati Shahidani, the faculty member of the department of political sciences and Director of International Scientific Cooperation Office (ISCO) of University of Guilan, participating in this conference, pointed out the importance of conserving sustainable diplomatic affairs between Caspian Sea region countries and emphasized on cruciality of institutionalizing and obtaining unanimous solutions for facing current opportunities and challenges by them.

On the verge of this conference, the meeting of the Commission of Science, Research and Technology of ASUCSRC announced additional no less important issues and proposals including the implementation of entrepreneurship and the study of the demands in universities, cooperation with business organizations and etc. Dr. Ruhollah Oji (Vice-Director of ISCO) emphasized on the importance of strengthening cooperation through the conducting of faculty member and student exchange programs, joint inter-university projects, as well as the possibility of creating a joint fund of the member universities.
