Biography
Jalil Seifali Harsini received his PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in February 2010. During 2009 he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova, Padova, Italy. Upon graduation, he worked as a research scientist at the University of Tehran, where he designed and developed advanced algorithms for software radio based digital communications. Since 2011, he has been with the University of Guilan, where he is currently an associate professor.
He has published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and presented papers in leading international conferences. He has also served as a referee for several international journals and conferences such as, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IET Communications, Wireless Networks (Springer), EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, IEEE Int. Conference on Communications (ICC), IEEE Symposium on Personal, Indoor, Mobile and Radio Communications (PIMRC), IEEE WCNC, etc.
His broad research interests lie in the area of wireless communications and networking, statistical and probabilistic modeling, and signal processing applications in communications systems and networking.
Specific areas include:
1- Cross-layer design, optimization and resource allocation for wireless networks
2- Cooperative communications, cognitive radios and networks,
3- Wireless network security (ad-hoc and sensor networks, emerging wireless standards)
4- 5G and new emerging wireless technologies: M2M communications, Internet of Things (IoT), and Mobile cloud computing
5- Wireless multimedia and quality of service (QoS) provisioning
