Biography
Javad Mokhtari graduated in Textile Chemistry & Fibre Science from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in 1992 and obtained his MSc from the same university in 1995. He joined University of Guilan, Rasht in 1996 and spent 3 years working in Textile Engineering Department as academic staff teaching undergraduate students.
In 1999, he was awarded a scholarship from Iran’s government in order to complete his research. He started his research in UMIST (University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology) in the field of reactive dyes and their application under supervision of prof. DAS Phillips. He obtained his PhD in Colour Chemistry and Technology from UMIST in 2003. From 2003 until 2006 he did some research works in the field of reactive dyes and their application in England.
Dr. Mokhtari joined University of Guilan as lecturer in 2006. He is specialist in Colour Chemistry and Technology teaching advanced physical chemistry of dye adsorption and relationship between colour and constitution of dyes courses for graduate students. He also teaches dye synthesis, dyeing of natural & synthetic fibre, textile printing for undergraduate students. He heads up a group of chemists, technologists and graduate students primarily involved in the synthesis and application of novel effect dyes and chemicals for textile substrates, modification of fibers as well as solar dyes.
