Mehrdad Nikooy

Biography

I am currently associated professor of forest engineering at University of Guilan. I earned my Bachelor of forestry at university of Guilan in Iran in 1998, my MSc in forest engineering at university of Tehran in Iran in 2000, and my PhD in forest engineering from the University of Tehran, in 2007, working with Prof. Baris Majnounian and Prof. Houshang Sobhani. In my thesis work I pioneered the production optimization and reduced impact on forest logging by preparing harvest planning in Nav watershed in Caspian forest of Iran. After completing my PhD, I accepted a position of member of scientific staff at university of Guilan, faculty of natural resources, forestry department. In 2016, I accepted an associated professor position at the University of Guilan. I am an expert of forest mechanization, cost analysis, and forest engineering ergonomic.
